I’m studying to be a nurse and having family members who work in health care, no matter what you respect a DNR. Even if someone said “looking forward” you have to disregard that because it takes a lot for someone to decided to do a DNR. Not fulfilling that wish is a mockery to their decisions. I won’t lie I’m scared of death, but I’m planning to get one soon, when I’m ready cause they’re will come a time when you feel either comfortable or know when it’s time.

So my understanding of the law is the family or even the patient can sue the hospital because her medical wishes were not honoured a bit like a family refusing hospital to harvest organs from a loved one even though they organ donors
