The Blue Whale is the largest creature in Earth’s history, reaching over 100 feet long and weighing more than 200 tons — bigger than any dinosaur. Millions of years before us, the ocean also held giants like Perucetus colossus, possibly the heaviest animal ever discovered, with bones so dense it may have outweighed even the blue whale. There was Shastasaurus, the largest marine reptile ever found, stretching nearly 70 feet through prehistoric seas. The most feared predator was Megalodon, a massive shark capable of hunting whales with a single bite. And Basilosaurus, a long, serpent-shaped whale, ruled the oceans by preying on other marine animals. These creatures prove one thing: the ocean has always belonged to giants — and we’ve explored less than 5% of it.
