A very weird argument of his, so he’d rather not his wife read quran? Quran is the word of god which u should ideally read regardless of understanding as its a form of worship and rewarded by Allah per each syllable recited, even tho ofcourse u should strive to understand it too

the quran is sent down so we UNDERSTAND what we're reading... why... because we need to know what is being said in the quran so we can understand our religion... it baffles me how people read in Arabic and have no clue... what is the point in this. Read what u understand so we can understand the surah and what our prophets went through, what Allah has forbidden and not forbidden.
