She leaned closer to the mirror, concentrating on perfecting the corners before gently pressing her lips together. She didn't notice the bedroom door opening. Lena had returned from making breakfast, two mugs of coffee still warming her hands. The moment she stepped inside... She stopped. Instead of announcing herself, she quietly leaned against the doorframe, watching the woman reflected in the mirror. The oversized white shirt Miu had stolen from her years ago still hung loosely around her shoulders. Her hair was only half finished, a few loose strands framing her face as the morning sun wrapped around her like a gentle halo. She looked... Beautiful. Miu caught her reflection a few seconds later. Their eyes met through the mirror. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips.

"I'm just admiring you, bubbie." Miu shook her head with a quiet chuckle. "You say that every day." "Because every day you somehow become even more beautiful." "Oh, please." "I'm serious." Lena's voice softened as she gently rested her hands on Miu's waist. She wasn't in a hurry. She never was when it came to moments like this. Very carefully, she slipped one hand beneath Miu's chin and tilted her face upward just enough for their eyes to meet. "You're so beautiful." The room fell silent. Miu felt warmth spread across her cheeks almost immediately. "You've seen me like this hundreds of times." "I know." "I haven't even finished getting ready." "I know." "My hair's a mess." "I know." "I stole your shirt." Lena smiled. "I know." "And you still think I'm beautiful?" Lena let out the smallest laugh. "Miu..." She gently brushed a loose strand of hair behind her wife's ear. "I've seen you crying so hard you couldn't breathe." "I've seen you sick with a fever." "I've seen you wearing pajamas with cartoon ducks on them." Miu groaned. "You promised never to bring those up." "They're adorable." "They're embarrassing." "They're adorable." Miu couldn't stop smiling anymore. Lena rested her forehead lightly against hers. "I've seen every version of you." "The happy one." "The stubborn one." Then Lena looked at her again. Longer this time. "You know what my favorite version is?" Miu tilted her head. "What?" "The one that looks back at me every morning." Miu felt her heart squeeze painfully inside her chest. "You always know exactly what to say." "I don't." "You do." "No." Lena smiled softly.
