In these cases, the set standard is usually "what would a REASONABLE person do when asked if they have a weapon?" and the answer would be a VERBAL confirmation and not a physical one. Law Enforcement gets attacked all the time from the most "unlikely" people like this woman holding a baby as an example. Just give verbal confirmation, and inform the officer where it's located.
