In all seriousness be careful with your son describing a ghost. We lived in an older home in Germany wheh my son was a toddler. He would wake up nightly screaming with night terrors describing a spirit in his room. It was terrifying 😳

We live in a farm house built in the early 1800’s and we have so many quirky things in this house, all the doors are original, we have this old key which is so big it’s on the bathroom door which wouldn’t have been the bathroom it would’ve been where the staff slept, we have a skullery staircase which is a small second staircase which leads down to the kitchen which is now the dining room which is next to the skullery which is a few steps down where all the meat etc would’ve been kept. When I’m using anything electrical I always think to myself I wonder what the spirits think of this haha. xxx

Well, I like the little spin you, just did about knocking out that wall for the see-through fireplace, just out of curiosity since it’s such a very historical old home, with the historical society over there,like over here across the pond, will help you preserve and help your family keep their original, but modern updates

I love the idea of the fireplace opening up more and using it with both rooms. If you’re worried about spirit have the house blessed by the local priest or have a local spiritualist come out to bless your home.
