iona is insane and terrible for the format in general since the format is so color centric. iona warps every game it lands in to a degree that it becomes unfun for the players who's colors are called.

Banning thoracle and rhystic study would be a bad move. while rhystic does gain card advantage its still easily removed. thoracle still can be countered like anything else. if you dont save and or use your removal wisely thats on you as player. every color has numerous ways to deal with non land permanents and both cards have their own places in bracket 4 and 5. I believe this way on a lot of strong cards and in my 20 years of playing this game, the big scary thing can always be removed one way or another.

The other two unbans would be fine, but Iona is a bridge too far. It basically removes any mono-color decks from a game.

I think gristelbrand would give cEDH a good reanimator deck option that you still have to commit to to make it super strong. I think that it 100% needs to be a gamechanger but compared to other cards that are legal like Necropotence that require little commitment or set up it’s at least equal of just under

I think unbanning griselbrand is completely fine. It'll find nice homes in brackets 4 and 5, and see occasional play in bracket 3 decks that want it for theme reasons.

would it be a bad idea to limit some cards to certain brackets? like if you unbanned jeweled lotus but restrict it to bracket 4 & 5. less cards could be banned and players could play their powerful cards in powerful games

personally I feel rhystic studying should be banned because it's so annoying to play with and against, especially at high bracket but not cedh tables. Thassa should be banned temporarily just to shake things up, it's getting a little boring at this point.

I think Thassa's and Rhystic study staying is fine. Thassa's is a main wincon in CEDH decks and while Rhystic study is a little annoying, I don't think it's terrible. In my pods it usually gets destroyed quickly. Thank you, Gavino. 🙏

I don't understand how thassa's doesn't get a ban while other generic good cards stay banned. Thassa consult is easily the most generic efficient wincon in the game. Can win on turn three if played in curve, earlier with ramp. So if the best 3 mana wincon isn't enough to hit a ban, why are many of the other cards stuck on the ban list. Golos for example, he is just a generic good commander that cost 5. Why is he banned but a generic good wincon that cost 3 isn't.
