The FIA has seen the pistons, their geometry is HIGHLY irregular. Seems very likely they *do* have adaptive CRs at temp. The problem is, if the FIA do test, and they fail, they can't disqualify them - Mercedes can't build a new engine in time. Mercedes would sue the FIA and win. The engine will stand.

the funniest thing would be if Merc was goosing everyone into spending dev time and resource when they hadn't, but then Ford/Honda/etc did figure it out how to make it work. Toto would then be crying foul play at that point

"Cant reproduce it" doesnt mean its not physically possible, it means they dont have enough time to get it functioning efficiently and reliably in the short time window before the start of the season, if merc were on this years ago then they very well could have it figured out
