I think one of the main points of what you’re saying is; privilege can be as much about material wealth and possessions passed down generationally, as it is the absence of fear, persecution and trauma passed down generationally.

We can't keep begging the system to treat us equally whenthe whole point of the system is to make obstacles and then move the goal post... The people that benefit from the system have to confront the system and be willing to lose everything for things to change (civil war happened for many reasons but one was because the south was making more money because they had slaves... but the people that benefited from it had to fight) If segregation was to happen today anything of worth in the system would go with white people for the most part, but don't think for a second that the black and brown community would have a issue with that. But that is a privilege right?

Even stopping to listen to a white woman explain what black people have been saying is a part of the patriarchal privilege. you automatically think ok I'll listen to her because she's white, but would've scrolled right past the people living the experience of "other"

I think its more that white people HAVE to be the victim or oppressed so they feel like they have an excuse to whatever. Additionally, white people seem to think that treating others fairly means they will be treated unfairly (like they have treated POC) and they will do any kind of mental gymnastics to ensure they are never treated like they know all non-white people are treated. It is also so clear fo me the past 2 years that people are very much chosing to not understand what white privilege (among many others) means for FEAR of the things previously stated.

A good starting point is that when POCs tell you their lived experiences…believe them! Also, there are many types of privilege, all that white privilege means is all else being equal, your yt skin gives you an advantage over POCs.

Back June 2022 I almost got killed by someone who run towards me with a knife & thankfully the white guy in the minivan save me, and two days later I saw the news the same guy who tried to kill me he killed half white and half black woman. 🥺
