as a pediatric sleep consultant and newborn care specialist i agree with most of this but please do not keep a newborn awake fur 2 hour wake windows. babies can't realistically handle 2 hour wake windows until 3 months and this will cause babies to become overtired and make it harder to get them to go to sleep. and yes a newborn who sleeps all day will sleep at night still. they're supposed to sleep basically all day long. appreciate amount of sleep is sooooo important at this age.

Here with a 1 month old and as long as I cap her nap at 2 hours, she sleeps 8-10 hours. 2 1/2 hours the first 2 weeks

Question! If they wake during the night should I be feeding???? My boy is breastfed. Should I feed him or try to get him to sleep? Also at what point of trying the 5 mins thing do you say enough enough and feed them???

Its unclear what you do to make baby fall asleep. Our baby can lay down but he would just stare into nothingness for hours and does not fall asleep unless we rock him.

my newborn will be 3 months on the 25th. he falls asleep by himself for bedtime at 8 pm. But for naps he wants to be rocked… even if I do a 1 hour wake window he’s crying when I swaddle him. Not sure if it’s the swaddle or if he’s already tired and I need to put him down earlier than 1 hour??
