Music transcends language, that’s why. I only speak English but listen to French, Arabic, Spanish, Korean, Russian, etc. music because a vibe is a vibe. This alone has taught me so much about the world at large from someone who grew up in a closed off community despite living in NYC. Being open to other cultures and people who aren’t like yourself is essential for the global community to survive and live in harmony. The visuals told the story of Puerto Rican culture- lights and dramatic flamboyance wouldn’t have been true to the culture of Puerto Rico. The storytelling was gorgeous, and really showed the unity between many communities coming together at the end! We should care about this because this is how we should be- together in unity

I listen to Spanish music even though I dont understand it bc I can still enjoy it. however it's not something I listen to all the time for thst exact reason. some people want to understand the music they listen to instead of literally j listen to sounds idk why people think thats so offensive 😭

This is how us Deafies feel every time they announce the ASL performers but don’t even do Picture in Picture (PIP) for the entirety of the performances & we have to hunt down the separate links to watch on our phones or computers just to have ASL..that lack of accessibility is how we feel every single year unfortunately, there’s never any real changes made :(

I wish people would open their eyes to some of his songs that he sang were sexual... no one that understands Spanish wants to talk about that... common on let's be for real.. if you are going to have a Spanish singer at least make sure the songs were appropriate for a football game where kids were watching it...

I didn't wanna watch it because I literally never watch the super bowl or the halftime show. I'm glad he got representation and I'm happy that he played it but I just dont ever watch it sooo. the issue was that some people were showing their prejudice against Hispanic people really hardcore and that's already happening a lot rn. so it was upsetting to see.
