@cat_hart_maternity: Hi, it’s Cat’s husband. I want to share the beginning of her story - or at least as much as words can hold. When Cat first became unwell, everything changed in an instant. One moment we were a brand‑new family, and the next we were thrown into a world of alarms, rushing footsteps, urgent decisions, and faces filled with worry. Nothing prepares you for that kind of fear. Cat spent weeks in intensive care. Days blurred into nights, and there were long stretches where we had no idea what the next hour would bring, let alone the next day. We didn’t know how she would be when she finally opened her eyes again - or when that moment would come. Every update felt heavy. Every hour felt like a lifetime. I held our baby while holding her hand, praying for the day she would hold her daughter again. She went through more major operations than I could ever have imagined. She endured levels of trauma and pain that most people will never experience in their lives. And through every moment of it, she fought - quietly, fiercely, with a strength that still leaves me in awe. There came a point when everything became even more complex, and decisions had to be made that changed her life forever. They altered her body, but they also ensured she could stay with us. And even then, she kept fighting. After five long weeks, when she finally began to wake, we didn’t know what she would remember, how she would feel, or how much of herself she would get back. But slowly - day by day, piece by piece - her strength returned. Cat is now rebuilding her life as a new mum, a survivor, and the strongest person I know. She has chosen to share her journey - not because it’s easy, but because she wants to help others understand how quickly life can change, and how vital support and awareness really are. If you can, please follow her page, show her love, and walk alongside her as she continues to heal. Your support means more than I can ever express. Thank you, Gary #postnatalpsychosisawareness #psychosisawareness #psychosis #MentalHealth #womenshealth

I remember a few months into being a new mum, just feeling like this world wasn’t real, that this new life wasn’t my own and I had to get back to my old life, I started having panic attacks and just was an anxious mess. I was put on Sertraline by my dr and thankfully things started to get better and I don’t feel that way anymore, but it was extremely scary how disconnected from my new life I felt. I wish you all the best in your recovery ❤️

You are so brave for sharing your story, the awareness you are going to raise for postpartum psychosis will have a positive impact on so many women and families and quite possibly save a life.
