i have the same hair and so does my youngest kid. i went through this as a child because my mom didnt understand that fine hair needs a really good conditioner, not on the scalp just the length. also i brush my hair before bed. braids are best. her hair will also tangle up if wearing a hoodie and it hangs in the hood.

You need quality shampoo and conditioner, and at minimum braid it nightly, get silk pillow cases or a bonnet. But quality shampoo n conditioner is a must, as well as some treatments.

I braided it before I broke down last night and put it in a tiny pony tail to keep her baby hair. as soon as I cut the split ends off she hasnt had anymore matting😭 its so sad but its needed for hair like this unfortunately. I wish you luck with the braiding to try and keep the hair growing💪🏽

You absolutely must braid her hair before sleep. Do two braids if you can, a Dutch from the top if you can’t, a basic tight but comfortable braid at the least.

You have to put her hair up if you let it down it gets all tangled you have to use tons of conditioning to get her tangles out good luck with that..

What in the world?! Just put her hair up in a ponytail, braids, pigtails 🤔🤔🤔there’s just no way she gets her hair that matted during sleep if her hair is combed before sleeping, that looks like neglect of grooming

My girls’ hair is the same. Like others are saying, we do both a braid, and they wear silk bonnets. & I personally use real mulberry silk ones, not polyester, but that’s just personal preference.

you need to trim it up a bit. not a chop. if the ends are split it'll tangle worse. ask me how i know🙄 braids. satin bedding.
