I admire your decision however, I think it’s misleading to say you can always go back to corporate work. I have met many stay at home moms (including my mom) who went back to working after years of not doing 9-5. They struggled a lot just looking for a job and a company that will hire them because there’s a gap in work experience. And then coupled with adjusting to the work schedule and lifestyle again - it’s not easy.

aus is 6 months then my job offers 6 months so total a year then you can just come back on reduced hours until your kid goes to prep to keep your full time spot for 5 years

In Serbia we have the first child's year off for mat leave. I can only imagine how hard it would be to go back to work before my baby turns one 😢

I totally understand. I resigned as well after a year my baby was born. Became a stay at home mom for 3 years and just got my new job last year as my baby started her school. Frankly speaking, I didnt regret it at all. My baby is everything🥰

Separation anxiety hits different. Quit working 6 months after my mat leave. I'm so blessed to have a supportive and provider husband. Stayed at home for 8 years and now presently working from home for the past 2 years. You can always return to work but you can never rewind time while your children are growing 😊

I made the same decision and didn't regret it totally...only in the aspect of starting over in the corp world when i wanted to go back. But still then i love being home with my kids. I got so much time with them and got to do so many school events with my oldest.
