Yep. Any time I tell a customer "we have to start with xxxx but it may not be the whole problem", all they hear is that "xxxx" is going to fix everything. I did a timing cover gasket on a 20 year old Jaguar that fixed the largest of his many oil leaks.... and he complained that it still leaked oil. Apparently that one gasket should have fixed the entire car. 😑
