@sciencesage: This planet shouldn't exist, and this one has astrophysicists confused (yes, me too). PSR J2322-2650b orbits a pulsar so close that it's being pulled into a lemon shape. But even weirder, the atmosphere is made up of only helium and pure carbon. Is it a planet or is it the remains of a star that was ripped apart, or something completely new? #space #Astronomy #astrophysics #Science #exoplanet #pulsar #universe #cosmos #spacetok #sciencetok #learnontiktok #stem #spacefacts #fyp
So we found Planet Hulk?!
But seriously, this is fascinating.

🤯🤯🤯7.8 hours = a year, and learning about a black widow systems and has an atmosphere of only helium and pure carbon is actually cool I need to know more!!!!

This is far beyond my intellect and field of study (more so the arts) but, I’ll rewatch due to how enthusiastically and eloquently the information is being shared. I might just have to learn something new. Keep up the good work.

This might be in my top 10 exoplanets now. How about you all? We just need a better name

can you imagine the view of the night sky if we could somehow survive the radiation to see our millisecond pulsar sun spinning at 300 times per second. wow space is incredible!

So we have gamma rays and an ovoid planet . So would that be like a microwaved egg?

How far away is the planet relative to its nearest planet? Sorry I know you said, I just didn't understand clearly

I was going to ask about what we would expect from such an exoplanet but I listened on and you covered it. Super interesting.

Not sure if this is on the right thought track, but hypothetically could this suggest a sort of variant in relation to how gravity operates in relation to the type of composition within the pulsar/ exoplanet within said entities? As in composition correlates to effective or lack of effect from or in gravity? Not sure if this in the right context I am very very surface level in this topic but I love hearing or reading on first observations or anomalies. I think I’m more intrigued if or how much this could potentially adjust our understanding of gravity?
