I’ve been playing for about a year and half now and can keep up no problem but every once in a while if I hit a really bad drive I’ll just pick up and drop near where the rest of the group is. Takes out a lot of stress.

My dad taught me to play golf by dropping a ball for me about 150 yards from the pin and moved it back as I improved. Nobody will judge you and if anyone says anything just say “I’m learning please go ahead of me!”

This only works if there’s not another group right behind the group you let pass otherwise it just causes a big traffic jam. My advice to beginners to to play Operation 36. It’s way better for pace of play and for confidence on the course.
