My parents literally only praise me on how little I needed them or how independent I was (and still seem to be). They don't see that I'm much more severely disabled than they'd expect, and I wouldn't be so bad off if they'd just noticed. 🤦🏼

They won’t ask for help, it’s so important to attune to them so you can offer it. Parents our job is to parent each one of our children, even if they seem to be “handling” it all.

I don't know if I was considered an easy child, possibly not, but I did see my mom going full on in affection towards my two younger brothers while I got maybe once or twice (practically nothing) in my entire lifetime
