Unfortunately my hormone specialist said the same thing and I was estrogen dominant at 46. Put me on progesterone only and I had an estrogen crash months later. I had to beg for a low dose of estrogen because my symptoms were so bad. Within a week of being on the E patch my symptoms were gone. Now I’m on 0.1 at 47 and it’s been life changing!

Fix insulin resistance and most all perimenopause symptoms goes away. Do that before hormones

There is literally no way to test estrogen every day to find out if we need it each day or not 🤨. I’m on HRT for perimenopause, was almost completely debilitated both physically and mentally by that time and was barely even functioning. Everything improved on HRT but the when I stopped estrogen for only six days and only continued my progesterone I almost died again!🤨 Never giving up my estrogen.

She is exactly right. Progesterone drops in early perimenopause, causing estrogen to spike and also the metabolites becomes harder to clear. So we have dominance from low progesterone AND from poor clearance pathways. Menopause is a decline of both. The problem is that the work being done is so painfully slow. We see Menopause clinics pop up but they still aren’t educated on perimenopause. They don’t even draw hormones properly. You test for dominance during earlier follicular, and for deficiency in early luteal.

Mine is 💯 estrogen dominance. I am on vitex to help clear the estrogen, a liver cleanse to help clear the estrogen, probiotics for my guts, and wild yam cream to help naturally balance the hormones. 4 months in and I am finally seeing some gains in my period being more manageable and my moods not being as INSANE.
