guys trust you need to understand the plot of the entire movie to understand why he looks like that 💔 the main character, or the girl (shenxiu) was on a cruise until it sank, and she fell overboard, ended up in a colorful ocean with a ducky floaty, and suddenly appeared in the deep sea restaurant. Finding a big hairy glob with multiple eyes. (It is basically the main antagonist) and it manipulates her, it’s almost like controlling and feeding off her emotions. Shenxiu meets nanhe (the weird looking dude) and nanhe is pissed cause he is in debt and his restaurant is 1 star. He captured the hairy glob and prepares to sell it as food for his profit, but of course shen xiu is manipulated and believes the glob is her mother. They have beef for most of the time. Until they finally reach the deepest sea.. and shenxiu doesn’t find nanhe. Shenxiu finds nanhe.. he looks normal for once. And shenxiu finds an exit to which she can find her mother, and she asks nanhe to come along with her because shenxiu knows how much nanhe took care of her. Nanhe says he can’t come along. The end of the movie shows shenxiu waking up in the hospital.. a small replay where nanhe has a ducky floaty in the sea shenxiu fell overboard in, and shenxiu clinging to the floaty.. and.. yeah. Let’s say the entire deep sea thing was fake, and part of shenxiu imagination when she was in her coma. Nanhe was dead a long time ago. He drowned saving shenxiu. And shenxiu was very disoriented in her coma, that’s why you often see nanhe looking like a goofball or an absolute creep in the deep sea restaurant.
