@travis.woo.trades: 5 things every trader has to unlearn to stop staying broke (even while “working hard”). 1. “Hard work = success.” In trading, hard work usually just turns into overtrading. If you make 10% a year, the difference between $1k and $1M isn’t effort… it’s capital. A lot of returns come from time + positioning, not hustle. 5. 5. 5. 5. “You should always take profits.” Not necessarily. The best approaches I’ve seen don’t “grab profits”… they let winners run. The big money is usually made from staying in the trend, not clipping it early. 7. 7. “Day trading = freedom.” Best case it becomes a remote job where your boss is the market. You’re still clocking in. Still stressed. Still glued to a screen. That’s not freedom to me. 9. 9. “Risking small is always safer.” Sometimes “playing it safe” is the risky move—because your life is passing while inflation keeps moving the goalposts. If you’re starting without serious capital, going too small can be a slow bleed. 15. 15. 15. 15. 15. 15. “Buy the dip is the smartest strategy.” A lot of great strategies don’t buy dips—they buy breakouts. Dips can keep dipping. Some things never recover. New highs happen for a reason: strength is information. Which one do you disagree with the most? #trading #investing #markets #mindset #riskmanagement
