I thought overconsumption meant like 30 tumblrs of the same brand just different colors. Or things that you just throw away after a few uses. Or buying 57 eyeshadow pallets. Things like that. Not books that will last DECADES.

To me the only way buying books should be considered overconsumption is when you buy multiple edition of the same book. That is ridiculous, and that is an unnecessary excess.

Owning lots of books IS NOT overconsumption HOWEVER , buying lots of books wich have the EXACT SAME WORDS is absolutely overconsumption. I get another copy of your favorite books but these book tockers that sometimes even by multiple copies of books they haven’t even read is INSANE
