If the top tank blew, there must be pressure building from the head, I would say it would need a new head gasket as well.. You can check the "blow by", by unscrewing the oil fill cap and leaving it over the top of the filler hole when you start it, if the cap is flapping around that is the definition of "blow by", if it stays still and isn't moving then that is a good thing. Loving the journey, I'm glad you guy's could have some fun on land, and learn some more new things!
