but that Messi is CR7 thing created a false security. Laliga probably thought they were close to the prem when in reality they were closer to Serie A. In fact this identifies the difference... the prem doesn't sell the individuals. the institution is the product. Burnley vs Leeds is built up as much as Man City vs Arsenal are.

England and Germany are the 2 countries who have the deepest culture in terms of attending games, going away, and supporting local teams. In Spain, Italy, France, the third tiers look more like our non league, whereas in England and Germany there are very well supported clubs even below that. The economy probably plays a bit of a role as well as the size of Spain

Ik it's supposed to rotate but the way the Premier league is marketed makes it hard to see it rotating away from England. The prem sells entertainment, not just the sport itself, it most of the more recognisable clubs in an era of social media, the clubs are richer as a result because the TV rights are shared equally, and it's considered the most difficult league rn.

is Spain the Real and Barca sell their own rights, which is why they dominate so much in their league. in the prem the rights are sold and split among the teams more evenly. this allows smaller clubs to buy better talent and pushes up the overall quality of the league. why 5 of the top 8 in this year's chap league are epl
