I'm telling this all the time to people, and they don't believe me 😂. the probably that a game of cards has been shuffled in the same order ever in all of history, and history to come, is theoretically close to 0. it's hard to believe

I understand the logic behind this. But every deck of cards starts out in the same order. To suggest that no two sets of cards have never been the same after a few shuffles of a brand new deck just feels wrong.

The possibilities are not equal to the probabilities. It is absolutely possible that a shuffle has been repeated and probably has. That’s just how probability works.
