For those commenting they've been through dv and read dark romance. This is actually a coping mechanism. After being sa I actually developed a preference for being a submissive in "certain" activities. For the longest time I didnt understand why. I eventually realised that even though I was in the submissive role, if i was with someone I trusted i was the one in control. I controlled when it stopped, how far i wanted to go etc. I had the power. Reading dark romance probably does the same thing for yous. You can control how much you read, when to stop reading etc it gives you the sense of power in a situation where you previously had none. Hopefully im not overstepping by mentioning that I could be 100% wrong too haha just learning that helped me process alot so thought id share 🥰

I just feel like dark romances are kinks, you have a lot of different things to try and sometimes can't do this in real life. DV is a no go for me , but I have read some books with them included some for me go too far but I am always willing to try. But a lighter read is needed after that!
