@instituteofartandideas: Does moral universalism lead us to a better society or do nothing more than “make us feel like good human beings”? In this debate, Alain de Botton and Tommy Curry go head to head alongside celebrated author Seyla Benhabib to explore the potential caveats within moral universalism through various philosophical lenses. Alain de Botton is a philosopher, author, and founder of The School of Life, exploring how ancient wisdom can guide us through the complexities of modern existence. Tommy Curry is a philosophy professor at Edinburgh University where he holds a Personal Chair in Africana Philosophy and Black Male studies.
The guy debating negated his whole argument with "thats what humans do". Some of us are doomed to repeat the same mistakes and they'll drag the rest of us down with them.

Mike Wharton Green Campaigner :
Moral universalism is a self delusional state of mind. It isn't real. Everyone has the responsibility to develop their own sense of morality, and question it, and examine how it differs from that of others.
