@heychristainnis: Replying to @Kristy_Nato A lot of points I forgot to make in this one after recording 4 different times. 😅 Hopefully this makes sense! #bachelorette #bride #weddingtok #budget #storytime
I think it may be different per country i live in Scotland and for my wedding if you ask someone to be in the wedding party its typical you cover the costs I.e dress and makeup so I bought my bridesmaids flower girls groomsmen their dresses and kilts and paid for the make up and hair for bridesmaids as well as buying them a small gift to say thank you for being by my side ( a bracelet and mini bottle of prosecco for the bridesmaids a necklace for the flower girls a personalised hip flask and bottle of alcohol for the groomsmen) then also we buy a bouquet of flowers for special people to gift at the wedding mother of the bride mother of the groom my aunt and sister in law for my wedding (my aunt and sister in law helped make things for the wedding) xxx

Yes, you still bring a gift. Being a bridesmaid is expensive, if you aren't ok with the cost of everything including bringing a gift for the couple you shouldn't say yes to being in the wedding party.

In some weddings I was in the whole bridal party would go together and get a bigger gift but yet it kept it reasonably priced for everyone.

I didn’t know asking the bridesmaids to pay for things was an option? I’m not into the wedding world tho, all my friends and family that I’ve been in or around, have always paid for everything including the wedding party. I think it’s sad to expect the bridal party to pay, it’s not their financial burden?

What if you’ve already bought a gift for a bridal shower? Do you still have to bring a gift to the wedding?

It is always understood/been taught in our family (or friends) that if we help throw the bridal shower, that IS the wedding gift. Or if we go to the shower and give a gift, that IS the gift. I don’t know if it’s just a southern thing or just local to me or my friends and family, but that’s always been the norm for as long as I can remember. And I have a huge family. I honestly didn’t know until my algorithm started showing wedding stuff on social media that it wasn’t a norm.
