@daughters.healing: This why adult children of narcissistic and borderline moms often have a differing version of what it was like to grow up in the same home. #narcissisticabuserecovery #narcissisticfamilysystem #narcissisticmother #borderlinemother
And it’s usually the opposite in reality. The “bad” one is the empath scapegoat. The “good” one is the user and addict most times. Turns into the narcissist.

Nah, the golden child doesn’t do anything to “get along” they get to do whatever the hell they want and get praise . The “all bad” kid was the one who did everything asked of her, everything she was “supposed to do” and never ever good enough while the “all good” child is actually a criminal on every level and still worshipped by mommy

Yup and I was the scapegoat / black sheep. And now she’s the golden adult and guess what - we DO NOT have a relationship. It’s sad but it is what it is.

My mom switches it up. My sister and I don’t know which one is in her favor on any given day.

Mom created the dynamics for my sister and I not to get alone. I tried later in life to restore the relationship with my sister but it's one sided.

I’m the scapegoat and at 55 I’m trying to explain to my brother why things are the way they are. My mother likes to him and manipulates him but he doesn’t see it. I call her out on her BS, so I’m the bad one. 🤷🏻♀️He doesn’t want to see it. He never has.

This! Both of my parents were narcissistic. I have two sisters and one was my mother’s golden child and the other was my father’s. I was the scapegoat for both of them.

I’m the youngest of 6 and I got my mother’s hate the worst… one sister could do no wrong, however up until a year ago I was the only one who didn’t go no contact and actually was her carer for years. The abuse I endured from that woman was horrific. I too am now no contact and I don’t regret it.

Why did the all bad child get so many more expensive gifts than the others?

I was the scape goat and black sheep child, but I was also an only child. My narcissist father and borderline mother would constantly compare me to other people’s (or even non-existent, hypothetical) children.
