I think the comment section should normalize two people separating with kids involved and them growing just apart and that being okay. Some people just aren’t meant to be together.

I think you and Taylor are both good people, but I fully believe you both would be better if you left each other alone! You’ll always have love for each other because you had a kid together. But you are not good for each other! Learn how to be best friends instead! Went thru the same thing with my oldest daughter’s dad, and we finally just figured out how to keep it on the friend level and have been great ever since! That was 15 years ago too!

Wow this comment section isn’t the vibe. Yes things didn’t work out with him and Taylor, but Dakota is still a person. A person in recovery, who clearly hasn’t acted on his own best interests but recovery is recovery. It’s not linear, there will be ups and downs. Not condoning his behavior, but I don’t think he even condones it, but addiction is an illness. He is going to make mistakes, he needs support not whatever he is getting now. I’m so glad you’ve found something to give you a better sense of self. We are proud of you Dakota. Keep pushing forward with love and your faith.
