Ring wants you to believe interconnected cameras are a harmless way to “find missing dogs.” But that SAME system that can “track dogs” is the same that can track people: where they go, who they see, how they live. And with the crazy world we live in, I wouldn’t be surprised if companies started to use this technology to track people of color, undocumented immigrants, women, or any historically marginalized communities. More than that, what I need you to understand, is that THIS is how mass surveillance starts: one “convenient” feature at a time. And then, when you look around, you will be surrounding by cameras tracking your every move. As an AI ethicist, I am telling you: If you can opt out, opt out.
If you can choose another product, choose another product.

Guys, watch Jared Henderson's video "the war on privacy"!!! he researched and last year there was a situation with the police accusing a woman from robbing another neighborhood's package at their door and the Ring camera "had proof". Turns out this woman was falsely accused, but the way she had to defend herself was *surveillance systems*!!!! this is so scary!!!
