Left NY for Florida. I miss NY. One if the best states hands down. People judge the state by NYC. The city is there if you want but you can live outside the city too.

I wouldn’t say (we) New Yorkers aren’t friendly. Everyone is generally happy to help people get where they’re going or whatever. We don’t hold your hand though if you don’t know what you want, if that makes sense

Same with Illinois, minus the surfing and mountains. We have state parks, and Chicago. We have nice beaches, great culture, ethnically diverse, great food, and the architecture is amazing. We just have corrupt politicians ruining Chicago and the state, but I still love to live here. The large police department I work for, we serve 155,000 residents, is in a town that was rated the 2nd best place to live in by U.S. News and World Reports, in the nation for 2 years. So, needless to say, I love it here

I love how you guys think anything outside of the city is mountains. We have real culture here, refugee cities, the largest Italian American population in the us , amazing food, the history of the native Americans and not to mention the Erie Canal ??
