I teach in north Philly and camden before that. I'm used to working with nothing lol my last school in camden had A TON of stuff. 2 indoor pools, kayaking, steam labs, state of the art tech. but Philly, we have a building 😂 i feel bad for my kids more than anything. they think they don't deserve better 😔

there are 2 k-4 schools one street apart and this is how it feels. I have worked at both and can see both from my porch one has amazing PTO support, and my school now has a different demographic all together.

Our county is small so all the public schools are in the district. The next county over, there is an independent district of only 2 buildings, k-5 and 6-12. Their lunches would cost $10 at any store and are amazing. Ours are overpriced and lacking nutrition on every level. 2 counties over, an elementary school has a garden and a greenhouse. I want to work for them just for the food.
