Dyson spent six years on a toothbrush. Here's what the camera actually does. It launched September 1 at $499. There's a camera inside the brush head. It looks at your teeth 28 times a second, trained on nearly half a million dental images, and when it spots a gap between two teeth it fires a jet of mouthwash into that gap within a tenth of a second. You just brush. The part that got me: normal toothpaste foams, and the camera can't see through foam. So they made a toothpaste that doesn't foam. They also built a fake plaque with the National University of Singapore so they could test the jet without running a clinical trial after every change. Six years, 661 engineers, 38 patents. And honestly, I want one.
