I’m a Canadian worker who works agencies and also independently. It’s crazy how much of difference there usually is between the two types of clients. The agency clients are really often too focused on the services, and go figure the rates are also on the lower end. 1-1 communication is definitely better for everyone, I can’t even talk to them before meeting at an agency and that often causes issues.

my teachers always said the same in general. if you are communicating something important with someone, literally explain EVERYTHING and talk to them like it's their first day on earth. you'll be surprised on how common sense is not common and what you thought everyone knew is not so know.
