I used to use a 48'. 10% in the nose and the tail. then split the rest even. 40 head would be 4's and 8's

6,500 lbs nose 7,500 lbs doghouse 18,500 lbs top deck and belly 12,500 lbs backend. This takes it to 63,500 lbs. this is for a tri axel trailer in Canada

7-10% in the nose then divide the rest by 5 for a spread. Roughly quick math

Cameron Johanning :
5000 in your nose 20,000 in centers and 10,000 in back end for a spread is what I was always told. Sometimes I’ll go18,000 in my centered to give them more room

660 pounds per foot per compartment… Most spreads are 10 foot noses 6600 pounds… 28 foot bellies 20,000 lbs…gated 14 ft 9,240 lbs… your tail is 14 ft to 9,240… the interior of your trailer will always be 1 foot less than your outside dimensions… So if you pull a 53 foot, you add up the interior compartments and they will only come to 52 feet….. then all you need is a average weight of the cows you’re putting in each compartment.
