Meet the kids from @guardian_de_culiacan Bicentenario, our second social project in Sinaloa serving youth who live next to the city’s largest dump site. These kids are growing up in a war zone between competing cartels. Many have lost immediate family members. Many live in daily fear. But through jiu jitsu, they have support. They have structure. They have people who care about them and help them navigate. On the mats, they’re not victims of their environment. They’re competitors. Teammates. Leaders in the making.
