I had a similar struggle with Christians oddly enough. I was so tremendously misunderstood and judged by my old church and for years I tried to get help from Christians and got judged. for quite a while I couldn't just be myself when around Christians because I was constantly wondering if they were seeing the monster my pastor painted me to be. I probably acted weird and off putting and made it worse lol. I know it's different, but it highlights the importance of not judging and remembering that we're all people. full stop. some folks will never get that, and it hurts. it's unfair and gross. I get you.
