@fly.goldseal: Ever wondered why a propeller blade is slightly twisted? ✈️ The variations in geometric pitch, or the “twisting” of a propeller blade, allows for a relatively constant angle of attack along its length in cruise flight. That’s because, at a given RPM, the propeller tips have to travel farther compared to the section of blade near the hub. This twist in the blade helps maintain a constant angle of attack, even though each section of the blade travels at the same rotations per minute, just at different speeds. This means the angle of incidence is greatest at the hub, permitting the same amount of lift to be created along the blade’s length. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - #propeller #studentpilot #flighttraining #privatepilot #learntofly
