@vivchowvals: 🛑 Don’t book your accommodation in the Dolomites until you read this! 👇 The Dolomites cover a massive area (approx. 16,000 km²!), so you need to be strategic with where you stay to maximize your time. 👋 Hi, we are Viv & Kev! We are huge mountain lovers and we are kicking off a brand new series to help you plan your first trip to the Dolomites! Make sure you follow along so you don’t miss an episode. 🇮🇹🥾 📍 The Strategy: Split Your Stay Whether you have a car or are using the bus, we highly recommend splitting your trip into two bases: The East and The West. This saves you hours of driving/commuting back and forth! 1️⃣ THE EAST SIDE Best for: Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cadini di Misurina, Lago di Misurina, Lago di Braies. 🏡 Where to base yourself: • Cortina d’Ampezzo (Best transport hub) • Dobbiaco / Toblach • San Vito di Cadore 2️⃣ THE WEST SIDE Best for: Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, Geisleralm, Sassolungo. 🏡 Where to base yourself: • Val Gardena (I.e. Ortisei!) • Brixen / Bressanone • Bolzano • Kastelruth 🚌 No Car? No Problem! You absolutely don’t need a car to visit, but the bus network, while amazing, takes time. Staying in main hubs like Cortina (East) and Ortisei (West) makes catching buses much easier. We will talk about transport options next! 🚗 Renting a Car? You have more flexibility to stay in smaller towns, but we still recommend splitting your base. The mountain roads are winding and slow - don’t waste your vacation driving! 👇Planning your first trip to the Dolomites? Hayley Alex :
Ortisei was an absolute DREAM! I ended my trip there last summer and think about it daily. If anyone is looking for a nice splurge hotel, try the Adler Dolomiti or Adler BALANCE (spa hotel). They are connected but 2 different vibes. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Hi! For the east, do you need a car to travel to the main attractions in October? Will there be lifts operating like in Ortisei? Thank you!

Is it possible to do it all and just stay at the same hotel for all? Or not recommended?

Hello! What would your advice be on finding private accommodation for two people? Is Booking a good site or should one look elsewhere? Which side would you recommend to first time visitors? Thanks in advance! :)
