I understand what youre saying, but in real life, what happens is i know those options are a trick. So i say to myself "oooorrrr i can just stay in the couch, cause those were made up options anyway" 🥲

I've had an epiphany recently. I don't have to want to do something or be motivated to do something. I can just do it demotivated. I schedule time for the gym and then I just go. I don't have to do a massive workout but I do just go. I might trudge out the front door but usually by the time I get to the gym muscle memory kicks in and I just get on with it.

I try and swap ‘have to’ with ‘get to’ because some things that are chores or not fun are still a luxury to others.

Nah, I need an activity that will entirely distract me from the fact I’m doing exercise. VR games are pretty good, but nerf wars are better, though they also wreck me for days afterwards because I always over exert myself

Problem with me is I find that excercising triggers my depression really badly immediately after. Like, I’ll leave the gym or class and sob in my car.

I'm what I call a proactive procrastinator ... I do this at work alot, instead of doing what I need tk get done I'll convince myself that another task is more urgent ... that's what gets me... I have lists but often times if a task is going to be too long I'll avoid it because I know I'll get interrupted and it won't get done anyway so I'll constantly try to fit in smaller tasks so I can complete them lol... it's a nonsense run around .. how do I fix this?

If you want to go just go. If you are not up to it it’s ok. But try your best. And if you do something you are proud of then celebrate it.

But in the centre of my mind, I would know exactly what kind of psychology I was trying to use on myself. I’m always worried that people are trying to trick my brain, so why would I try to do that to myself???
