Just curious would it be faster and easier on the grinder to unroll the hay into it rather than full bale bouncing around a bit?

Have you thought about hiring a custom grinder? 30 minutes a load can add up real quick. I guess it depends how much your feeding

Throw the bale in first. Shoot for a 55% ish dry matter in the whole load. If you still need moisture with the wet feed throw some water in there.

Would it grind better if the bale went in first so it could get all the way down to the other knives? I never had a vertical just asking?
