I wanted a new perfume. I went on Sephora on Rakuten and they had 16x points on fragrance. I spent $160 on fragrance so I think I’ll get like 2k Amex points!? So crazy!

Man, the amount promotion you do for Rakuten, I think someday there will be a religion called Rakuten. And honestly, I'd sign up for it. (Hopefully, there is a sign up bonus 🤪)

Not sure if it’s allowed but sometimes I have managed to use both Rakuten plus c1 portal for the same purchases and would recommend always looking to see if both have offers (for example needed a new camera on adorama and Rakuten had a 2.5 multiplier, C1 shopping had a 2x and just using the standard venture x gave me 2x so instead of getting only 1900 points using a card alone I managed to stack about 5,500-6000 points on a single 900ish purchase

Why do you prefer to get your points via AMEX as opposed to BILT? I’d imagine with the 2x on palladium you could get an extra point per purchase as opposed to the 1x on Gold
