My earliest memory is of my moms boyfriend chasing me up the stairs because I spilled my cereal. I was 4 Andy bedroom closet became my safe haven. I’d hide anytime my moms boyfriends got mad, until I got my brothers and took the beatings so my little brothers didn’t have to. I became mother figure at 8. As a mother myself now, I will never understand.
