@momchats: For me, after consulting with a medical professional I trust, this was the right choice. If you are struggling, talk to someone. We are supposed to enjoy life. Our family, friends, and kids deserve to enjoy life with us.

I have been on antidepressants for nearly 22 years now. My brain doesn't make the happy chemical. If I was diabetic and didn't produce insulin I would have to take it, and that's the way I look at antidepressants 🥰

My father died 3 weeks ago after a 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer. I was his primary care provider. On Feb 18th I will have 8 years sober, so I am dealing with every personal emotion possible, stone cold sober. All while the world around me seems to be burning. My mental state has been deteriorating and I fear it’s pretty destroyed at this moment. Then I saw your video and it made me know I am never alone.

If your heart didn't work right, you'd take medicine to help it work right. Your brain is no different. Similarly, if you needed physical therapy for your leg you'd just do it, and we need to treat mental therapy the same way.

Breaking the taboo on mental health and medication is so important ❤️meds aren't always forever, sometimes they're temporary and sometimes they're lifelong and either is just fine 😊 I am a better mom, better partner and better human when I'm medicated. There's no reason to suffer in silence.

I have been on my antidepressant for 2 years and started it when I was in my first long Nicu stay with my daughter. I’m currently in the Nicu again with my son and I feel like I’m drowning…

Antidepressants saved my life. It doesn’t always mean you’ll need them forever, but they can get you out of a really dark place and help you take care of yourself again and see some light. Like my doc said: maybe you could manage without them, but it’s ok to not want to struggle all the time and just live your life.
