@the.worried.wanderer: Rating Colorado ski resorts based on how beginner/intermediate friendly they are! ❄️ S T E A M B O A T ❄️ My rating: 10/10 *EDIT: in the video I say “easy green catwalks” on most of the mountain. I meant “easy green runs”. There are a few catwalks on the left side of the mountain but not really on the right side. Steamboat is my all-time favorite ski resort for any level and here’s why ⬇️ 👍 Pros: - Enclosed gondola to take you to a beginner-specific area (Wild Blue Gondola - first stop) - Tons of wide open easy greens throughout the mountains - Gorgeous - Nice Après Ski - There’s a green all the way at the top (Sundial to Tomahawk) for some epic views - Runs for beginners all the way through expert so it’s great for everyone! 👎 Cons - Can get pretty busy on the weekends My favorite runs: 💚 Sundial & Tomahawk 💚 BC Ski Way 💚 Why Not 💚 Broadway 💙 Sunshine Lift Line 💙 Cowboy Coffee ⛷️ Here’s what I’d do if I was a first-timer or just a super cautious beginner: 1️⃣ Take the Wild Blue Gondola and get off on the first stop 2️⃣ Take Giggle Gulch to Shortcut 3️⃣ Take the Gondola back up and try Rough Rider to Right O Way 4️⃣ Repeat as many times as you want! All the greens in this area are very doable. *Once you’re ready for steeper greens, take the Wild Blue Gondola all the way the mountain (2nd stop) and try Sundial to Tomahawk. Then take the Sunshine Express lift to do it again! Once you’re done, you can just take the Wild Blue Gondola back down the mountain, or ski down via all the greens.
