Spaghetti Bolognese 🍝 This is the dish of my childhood so I thought it would be perfect to share as a back to school recipe! Super versatile and can be eaten as it is with spaghetti or as a meat base for lasagne. Meal preppable and freezer friendly. I’m using Irish Hereford Prime 5% lean beef mince for this recipe (available at @SuperValu Ireland Official ). This recipe serves 5-6 portions. You need: -450g @irishherefordprime lean beef mince -1 tbsp olive oil -1 onion, diced finely -1 large carrot, diced finely -1 stick of celery, diced finely -120g diced pancetta or bacon lardons -30g freshly grated Parmesan -handful fresh basil -1 tbsp balsamic vinegar -400g passata -1 beef stock pot -3 cloves garlic, diced -salt & pepper -2 tbsp tomato purée How: 1) Finely dice your vegetables and sauté with your pancetta in a little olive oil until onions are soft (if you have fussy eaters you can blend the veg to hide it in the sauce). 2) Add your @Irish Hereford Prime mince to the pan and break up the mince & season with salt & pepper. Cool until meat is fully browned. 3) Add the tomato purée, passata, beef stock & balsamic vinegar. Add about 100ml of water to the empty jar of passata & shake to get all the tomato sauce and add to the pan. 4) Simmer for at least 25mins (ideally 45mins - 1hr on low). Stir occasionally. 5) Before serving add a handful of grated Parmesan & fresh basil. 6) Serve with spaghetti & top with extra Parmesan. #iworkwithirishherefordprime #SoMuchtoSavour #IrishHerefordPrime #spaghettibolognese #SlowCookerRecipes
