Saying “just aim” ignores how much winning depends on decision-making, because aim only works well when you are already taking the right fight. A player can have strong mechanics and still lose if they peek at the wrong time, choose a bad position, ignore sound cues, or waste utility, while another player with average aim can win by holding better angles, predicting enemy movement, and using abilities correctly. Even crosshair placement, which many people call aim, actually comes from map knowledge and understanding where enemies are likely to appear. Utility from agents like Phoenix or Killjoy can also remove an aim advantage completely, because a blinded or trapped player cannot rely on mechanics alone. That is why deathmatch skill does not always translate to ranked success, aim may win individual duels, but game sense creates consistent impact across full rounds and matches
