@itsbimie: 2 things I changed to help me lose fat @AYBL dc: BIM 1. Intermittent Fasting When we eat (especially carbs), insulin rises. Insulin’s job is to store energy — including storing fat. By doing intermittent fasting, I’m not constantly spiking my insulin throughout the day. When insulin stays lower for a longer period, the body can shift from “storage mode” to fat-burning mode. Lower insulin over time allows the body to access stored fat and use it as energy instead of storing more. That’s the strategy — not starving, just giving my body a longer window to burn fat. ⸻ 2. Incline walking (Zone 2) after weight training — while fasted Zone 2 cardio uses a higher percentage of fat as fuel. It’s steady, controlled, and sustainable. I do at least 45 minutes of incline walking after lifting. I train while still fasted, which means: • Insulin is already low • Glycogen is lower • My body is more likely to tap into stored fat It’s low impact but very effective. Lift heavy. Stay fasted. Incline walk. Stay consistent. That’s how I stay lean while building muscle. 💪🏼
How do you lift heavy or progressively overload during fasted lifting sessions? I find myself not being as strong when fasted weight training than fueled evening sessions
