@heathershomebakes: come bake with me in my moo moo 😂😂😂 Cranberry Orange Scones 🍊✨ Ingredients Dry Ingredients: 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour ½ cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt Butter: 1 ½ cups (3 sticks) cold butter, cubed Mix-Ins: 1 ½ cups cranberries (fresh or dried) Juice of ½ an orange (for soaking cranberries) Zest of ½ an orange Wet Ingredients: 1 cup buttermilk 1 teaspoon vanilla For Topping: Heavy whipping cream (for brushing) Flaky sugar Orange Glaze: Juice of ½ an orange Powdered sugar (about 1–1½ cups, adjust to consistency) Instructions Soak the cranberries Toss cranberries in the juice of ½ an orange and let them soak while you prep everything else. Mix dry ingredients In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter Add cold cubed butter and cut in using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture looks like coarse sand with small pea-sized pieces of butter. Add flavor Stir in orange zest and soaked cranberries (including any remaining juice). Add wet ingredients Mix in buttermilk and vanilla. Stir just until combined — don’t overmix. Chill Cover and refrigerate dough for 1 hour. Shape Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Form into a circle about 1 inch thick (like a pizza). Cut into 8–12 wedges. Top Place on a lined baking sheet. Brush tops with heavy whipping cream and sprinkle with flaky sugar. Bake Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes, until lightly golden on top.
